Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, I remember telling my family, “I think God is going to tell me to go somewhere where it is warm because I do not like the cold and snow.” I had no idea at that time, but He was in fact going to do just that.

After an accident that happened in high school, the Lord began to burden my heart for people, particularly youth who are often overlooked.

God used two short-term team opportunities to the Philippines and an internship there to give me a passion to serve cross-culturally longer-term. I prayed for guidance and started to research sending organizations, but nothing was working out. I trusted that if God wanted it, He would make a way for it to happen. Then, I did what any college student would do when they are confused - I started to Google search organizations. After hours of searching, I came across ACTION. It was there where I saw information about Brand New Day (BND), an outreach and rehabilitation program for street children in Cavite, Philippines. When talking with individuals from ACTION, I saw that everything God was and is doing at BND is what God has given me the passion for: reaching the “most hopeless of the hopeless.” My life goal is to share the hope of Jesus with at-risk youth and children and that God can turn a mess into a masterpiece.

I graduated from Liberty University in 2017 with a degree in Youth Ministries: Global Studies and moved back to my hometown where I became a residential houseparent for 20+ international high school students. Although it was not in my plan to move back to PA, I am so thankful for the opportunities to share with the students that I work with, reconnect with people, and be invited as a speaker to churches and schools about missions as I prepare to go to the Philippines in Fall 2019.

Another exciting thing that God has been a part of is that during my internship in 2016 while at a Christian camp in the Philippines, God brought a wonderful man, Robert, into my life. I did not give him a thought until after God confirmed that He was leading me to go back to the Philippines long-term. After a 2-year courtship, we got engaged in 2018 and look forward to serving at BND together after we get married in 2020.
