Adam & Alexis Hussey

Send a Note Start a Campaign
Adam is from Sturbridge, Massachusetts. He graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2005 with a degree in Communications. In October 2007, Adam arrived in Gulu, Uganda, after volunteering for two months in the International Office as an administrative assistant to Nelson Reed.

After 8 months on the field in Gulu, Adam contracted a severe case of malaria which required him to return to the States for treatment. Adam then went to serve the Lord in the Philippines and now serves ACTION through video production, street children outreaches and youth discipleship. It was in the Philippines where Adam met his wife Alei, and the two were married in April of 2010. They have two beautiful children, Eliana (4 years old) and Dawson (2 years old).

Adam and Alexis began a ministry called Faith Hope Love which ministers in a large squatter community 30 minutes south of Metro Manila. Adam and Alei have 3 paid National staff who help run the ministries daily activities. The Faith Hope Love team rent a house outside the community to conduct their weekly programs. They currently have 70 children in their weekly Children’s Bible Studies, 25 adults in their adult Studies, 6 teenage boys being discipled weekly one-on-one, 4 teenage girls being discipled weekly one-on-one, 3 tutorial programs (reading, advanced reading and phonics), guitar lessons for 4 teenage boys coupled with a teen boys Bible Study, a teenage girls Bible Study, 2 women being discipled weekly one-on-one, weekly visitation to the 42 families they reach out to.

The Faith Hope Love team is focused on discipling the teens as they are the next generation leaders of their community and Lord willing future leaders of this ministry.

Interview with Walter Jespersen: I had the opportunity to talk with Walter Jespersen (father-in-law of ACTION Founder Doug Nichols). We had a great talk about missions and his experiences in China. Please click here to view this ten minute video interview.
