My name is Bryan Miller, and I currently reside in Michigan.  I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computational Sciences and Behavioral Sciences through Liberty University Online.  My prayer is, upon completion of my Bachelor’s degree, to go into full-time Christian work with children who come from broken homes.

My hobbies and interests are learning about other cultures and traveling.  I, myself, was adopted at the age of thirteen, by a missionary family, who took me to Brazil.  Thus, my interest in other cultures took root.  I spent my adolescence in Brazil and, upon graduation from high school, I returned to the United States and joined the Navy.

I spent fourteen years in the Navy and got to travel to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.  I had the opportunity to experience the Portuguese culture for two years while I lived in the Azores, and the opportunity to experience the Italian culture while I was stationed on the Island of Sicily for six months.  I also traveled to the Asian countries of Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and China.

At the present time, I am the Director of an Associate Discipleship School.  In this position, I supervise ten other team members who grade Bible courses, disciple inmates, military personnel, veterans, members of our congregation, and shut-ins. All of these are eager to gain knowledge of Our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.  Using Source of Light material, we mail these Bible courses, which are then returned to us for grading, mentoring, prayer, with a chance for us to later share our testimony with others.

My ministry assignment during this anticipated short-term mission trip will be mentoring teenage boys from broken homes at Davis Lar Children’s Homes, Fortaleza, Brazil.  In light of my life experiences and God’s redemption of my brokenness, I want to minister to these needy children. Thereby, mentoring these children, my prayer for each of them would be that they heal from their trauma and return to a healthy family environment.
