Sarah was raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. She lived with the blessing of knowing and loving Christ from a young age. From a young age, one of her dreams was to go minister to children in third-world countries.

Growing up, Sarah’s parents often held outreaches in the community or at church, and it at one of these events that she was saved. In her teen years, she started taking more of a leadership role, involved with programs such as summer camps, recreational programs, Sunday schools, outreaches to the Asian community, and programs for seniors.

As a teenager, Sarah felt God calling her to go to Bible college, so she attended World Impact Bible Institute immediately following high school. During her time there, God started putting a clear calling on her life for missions. He brought random people across her path to confirm what He was laying on her heart.

After Bible college, Sarah attended university to pursue a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degree. After graduating as a teacher, God put a love in her heart for the Aboriginal people. An opportunity to teach in northern Canada became available. For 2 years, Sarah taught and lived among the Naskapi people of Kawawachikamach, Quebec. Many of the children there were unhappy, unloved, neglected and empty. They lived a life surrounded by drugs, alcohol, and violence. God gave Sarah the chance to fill them with His love, and these children became like her own. Teaching was not just an occupation, but a ministry. She knew then that she could not live a normal life, but a life with purpose, saying yes to all God asked her to do.

During her second year teaching, God put a stirring in Sarah’s heart to go to Africa. She felt restless, and sought the Lord for direction. She could not ignore what God was putting in her heart. She knew it was time to move on to the next chapter of the life God had written out for her, and go to Malawi, Africa.

Sarah has been a missionary since 2010 in the central region of Malawi, the “warm heart of Africa,” a place that has become like home to her. Malawi is a place of which Matt. 9 is so true: “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few…beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into the harvest.” She works hand in hand with the village churches, discipling, equipping, and enabling locals to do ministry in their communities and beyond. Her vision is to see the gospel reach further into the isolated villages of Malawi, where people are hungry and extremely receptive.

She runs a variety of programs in several villages, including Bible camps and clubs, projects aiding orphans & widows, youth ministry, women’s programs, Bible classes, sports evangelism, leadership training, ESL classes, and the administration of 11 feeding centers that feed 1200+ orphans and widows. Lately she has been focusing on offering training to rising church leaders/local missionaries, as well as the administration of visiting short term teams and working with new/visiting missionaries. She has truly seen the hand of the Lord at work in this country.
