I am from a small town in North Dakota, but for the past few years, I have been living in Nashville, TN. Nashville was one of the most important journeys I have gone on. My faith grew so drastically because I had to completely trust in Jesus with all of my life: finances, friends, job, housing, etc. During my stay in Nashville, one of my dear friends told me that she believed God was calling me to Brazil. I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but I started to pray about Brazil. After about two months of praying, I felt like the Lord was directing my heart to go to Brazil and to leave Nashville.

As I started to dig deeper with God regarding Brazil, I felt Jesus nudging me to get certified to teach English as a second language, which I was able to complete while I was still in Nashville. I since have moved back to North Dakota to continue to prepare for this journey. I know God has called me to care for His children that are living in difficult situations. I have been accepted by ACTION International to serve in Brazil for six months with Laura and Felipe Matias at Casa Semear, “the Sower House.” I will be working directly with underprivileged children and will be serving them by assisting the missionaries with Bible lessons, educational support and various activities during the daily program offered at Casa Semear. I’m excited to partner with God and to experience His love and faithfulness in a new way as I venture to Brazil.
